couples counselingMeet Robin Guterman, LCSW

“Achieving balance in life is crucial for lasting change and continued growth. Connectedness in relationships is the result of that growth.”

As the founder and owner of RLG Counseling and Mediation, I believe the strongest approach to wellness is to focus on balancing mental, emotional and physical health through taking consistent action over time.

A Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Divorce Mediator, my career spans over 27 years of counseling individuals, families and couples struggling with mood, communication, relationships, family issues and addiction. I serve clients in Northern New Jersey and maintain a small private practice in Boca Raton, Florida.

My divorce mediation practice is a natural professional progression, allowing me to support clients by creating a roadmap for separation or divorce with the least amount of hostility and anguish.

I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, and earned my Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Yeshiva University-Wurzweiller School of Social Work. I have worked with diverse populations throughout my career as a therapist, clinical director, CEO and consultant for many of the top mental health facilities and treatment centers in New York and Florida.

Treating the whole person is my passion. My love of fitness and therapy led me to become a certified fitness recovery coach through the Addiction Academy of South Florida. I was recognized as the best substance abuse family therapist in Boca Raton in 2013, and several years later was featured in the Boca Raton Observer’s Best of 2016 Wonder Woman issue.

I am an active member of the National Association of Social Workers, New Jersey Society of Clinical Social Work, National Association of Divorce Professionals and the National Association for Addiction Professionals.

As a proud mother of two adult children as well as having experienced divorce, I understand how challenging life can be and how sometimes, despite our best attempts, we need outside support. I returned to New Jersey in 2019 to be closer to my friends and family and begin a new chapter in my life.
